CCSP developed the Community Leader Empowerment Program (CLEP) focusing on increasing the awareness and participation of local Community Leaders, particularly youths and women. It is a three-year program, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), from October 2018 to September 2021. The objective is to “increase democratic awareness and participation of community members, especially women and youth, in electoral and political processes” at the sub national level. It engages Community Leaders in community-based dialogues, raising awareness through concerts, role-play, exchange visit, advocacy, active learning, training and coaching on different learning subjects such as democratic principles, good governance, civic engagement, leadership and so on. They are coach to engage through social media as well.
CCSP delivers projects in social accountability, training and capacity building, and information dissemination. With funding from USAID through Family Health International (FHI) 360, the World Bank through World Vision in Kep Province. The program’s objective is to increase the democratic awareness and participation of Cambodian community members, particularly women and youth, in electoral and political processes at the sub-national level. With the funding support provided by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for the Implementation of Social Accountability in Cambodia (ISAC) in Kampot Province, CCSP needs a qualified staff person to serve the administrative and financial needs of the organization and to support the program activity in the provinces. These programs started in 2020 until 2024-25.
After nine years of continuous operation as a project, Ms. Sokhany Prak, executive director of CCSP, headed the formal registration of CCSP as a permanent NGO. Changing the CCSP acronym to “Cambodian Civil Society Partnership”, the organization continued its major themes bridging policy makers of decentralization in the Ministry of Interior with the two thousand CSO’s with programs below:
NLO webpage serves users to get access to legal instrument related to D&D document, such as decree, sub decree, guideline, and other regulations.
NLO resource center has equipped with more than 600 books related to D&D document, such reports, finding, literature text, and other guidebooks.
One of the major tasks of NLO is to ensure a quarterly meeting between CSOs and Government regarding D&D topics, through facilitation made by NLO coordinator, both CSOs and Government can create an effective dialogue to any concerned raised by both agencies.
Working Group for Partnership in Decentralization (WGPD) is also one of the task that NLO is taking lead as voluntary basis to ensure a continue dialogue, experience sharing among CSOs who actively involved in the area of D&D reform.
